DESCRIPTION
We are looking to hire a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our creative team. As a video editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded video footage, applying artistic editing techniques and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director and the client. This is a key role in the post-production process and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of the finished result. You'll usually work closely with the director to achieve the desired end result.
To ensure success as a video editor, you should have expert knowledge of modern video editing software and techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule.
Discussions with the director to determine production vision.
Reviewing raw material to determine the shot list.
Manipulating video footage using modern editing techniques.
Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.
Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.
Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.
Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence.
Consulting with the director and production team throughout the project.
Creating the final cut for broadcasting.
Hands-on experience with editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
Knowledge of additional creative technology software ( Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks ) will be an added advantage.
Creative and artistic skills.

Familiarity with motion graphics, composition and special effects.
Portfolio of completed productions.
Ability to translate ideas into content.
Receiving a brief, and maybe an outline of footage and/or a shot list, script, or screenplay
assembling all raw footage, with camera shots in preparation for inputting into the Software
Inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer
Digitally cutting files to put together the sequence of the video and deciding what's usable
creating a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the video and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the video.
Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements
writing voiceover/commentary
Suggesting or selecting music
Depending on your role you may also finalize technical aspects such as correcting faulty footage, grading and coloring and adding special effects.
Perform video and audio editing based on story sequence and continuity.
Work closely with clients and directors during production.
Cut video sequences effectively to ensure the scenes are seamless and flow logically.
Perform all editing work including inserting music, sound effects, storyboarding, etc.
Develop superior skills and expertise in handling computer editing equipment, video switching devices, etc.
Discuss with directors and producers about video layouts and editing styles.
Collaborate closely with others in audio and visual teams to create a continuous and complete story.
Organize and assemble video segments to deliver a continuous and sequential story of specified length.
Splice raw footage together from various sources and shoots, and combine it with other scenes to create a cohesive story
Evaluate edited footage to make sure it matches the story from the script and meets the narrative agenda of the producer and director of the video
Use computer editing software programs, video switching devices, digital video effects programs and other tools to piece together video components
Create sound effects by recording specific audio clips or choose audio effects from a database of sounds to include in the final video
Discuss project timeline, narrative structure, story goals and more with the director and any producers as the project is edited
Determine the specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete the videos.
Trim video segments to specified lengths and reassemble segments in sequences that present stories with maximum effect.

Requirements
Proven graphic designing experience
A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Tamil Typing is additional benefit
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus

DESCRIPTION
The VFX Editor incorporates and updates all required versions of visual effects shots into the current cuts of the VFX / live action sequences. The VFX Editor also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain sequence edits and inserting visual effects shots into the timeline
Manage and document the turnover of shots from editorial through to delivery including ingesting new media into pipeline
Ensure that published shots conform to the current edit and perform basic QC checks
Prepare sequence edits for internal and client approvals when required
Perform shot specific colour corrections to match editorial reference when required
Perform shot retimes to match supplied editorial reference when required
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2+ years of editing experience within the media, film and television industry
An eye for detail and thorough understanding of techniques, file formats, colour-space, software and technology relating to the live action visual effects
Basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro
Expert knowledge in After Effects and other VFX Software
Proven accuracy and organizational experience
